The movie shows Emma and Dexter on the same date each year. Sometimes they’re together, other times they’re not. When they think their lives are getting farther apart, they realize they’re meant for each other.
3. Adventureland (2009)
It’s always interesting to see youngins learn about life, love, and how cruel the adult life can be. Adventureland is set in 1987 where James Brennan (Jesse Eisenberg), a recent college graduate, ditches his dream to travel Europe and instead spends his summer working a minimum wage job at a theme park in his hometown.
There, he becomes close with Emily Lewin (Kristen Stewart), a typical stoner girl with a troubled family. From there on, the lovebird experience some painful lessons as James finally figures out what’s really important to him.
4. I Am Love (2009)
Twenty years ago Emma (Tilda Swinton), a Russian woman, married a wealthy Italian man and left her country. The story is set during war era when Mussolini is in power.
Two decades of unfulfilling life leads Emma vulnerable to the charm of Antonio, a much younger man who is a chef and her son’s business partner.
As you might have guessed, she has an affair with Antonio. The story ends with tragedy as Emma’s son finds out his mother’s mischievous adventure with his business partner.
5. The Wedding Planner (2001)
Starring Jennifer Lopez, this movie has received many negative critics. That doesn’t change the fact that this is an entertaining romantic comedy with a plot that’s enough to entertain you throughout its duration.
Lopez plays as Mary Fiore, a successful wedding planner who after years of continuous success finally breaks the number one rule: she falls in love with the groom. With its flat storyline, this romantic comedy movie is perfect for light movie-watching where you can share a couple of good laughs or at least a smile.
6. Take This Waltz (2011)
Chance meetings can have unpredictable results. Margot (Michelle Williams) learns this the hard way when she meets Daniel (Seth Rogen) on a plane ride from Toronto. She eventually learns that the free-spirited artist is her neighbor.
Put a woman longing for the lost spark in marriage with a handsome artist in the same movie, and you know where it’s going. Still, Margot’s struggle in choosing between the stability of a marriage and the uncertainty of a future with Daniel makes this romantic comedy movie worth the watch. Seth serious act is something you shouldn’t miss also.
7. I Give It A Year (2013)
Set in England, this movie tells the story of a newlywed, Nat and Josh. Being different, Nat and Josh fulfill each other perfectly. Or so they thought.
The first year of their marriage is filled with family and friends questioning if they will last. With their first anniversary approaching, the couple is starting to ask the same question.
This is a good choice if you’re looking for an enjoyable romantic comedy to watch that doesn’t leave you wondering about some scrupulous plot.
8. Moonrise Kingdom (2012)
When a couple of tweens in love proceed with their plan to run away, the adults in their hometown embark on a quest to search for them. Captain Sharp (Bruce Willis) is left in charge to find the runaways with a bunch of oddball grownups.
You don’t need to guess the plot of this movie as the narrator is keen in keeping you informed about everything.
Moonrise Kingdom is a movie that will leave you with a smile. Just sit down, enjoy the music, enjoy the settings, and enjoy the narrator’s story.
9. The Very Thought Of You (1998)
This British movie was originally titled Martha, Meet Frank, Daniel and Laurence. Considering that the movie revolves around those four, it feels appropriate.
It’s a light-hearted movie that starts with Laurence telling his neighbor how he and his friends, Frank and Daniel, is facing the end of their lifelong friendship. All is because they fall in love with the same woman, Martha, who doesn’t even realize the three are related.
The story moves backward and forwards giving viewers the pieces of puzzles until the whole picture is revealed.
10. Bewitched (2005)
In his effort to rekindle his career, Jack Wyatt stars in a reboot of a 1960 comedy. He meets with Isabel and immediately attracted to her. He casts her as a witch in the movie without knowing that she is a genuine witch in the flesh.
This movie could be a lot better having Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell playing as Isabel and Jack Wyatt, but if you sit back and relax, Bewitched is fun romantic comedy movie to watch with anyone, really. Don’t forget to grab your favorite popcorn while you’re at it too.
11. Comet (2014)
Dell and Kimberly first met on a Meteor Show. The six years of their romantic relationship is decorated with many ups and downs that viewers can easily relate to. The movie has good cinematography with excellent acting and dialogs. The chemistry between the main casts feels real.
This movie is showing you the six years of Dell and Kimberly’s relationship in a zigzaggy progression with that officially said Dell is crisscrossing between parallel universe. You can also take it as him traveling in time through different stages of his relationship.
12. 50 First Dates (2004)
When Henry (Adam Sandler) meets Lucy (Drew Barrymore), he immediately falls in love. Well, not quite. But they both feel comfortable with each other.
The following day, Henry is all bewildered because Lucy is acting like she has never seen him before in her life. Henry learns that Lucy suffers from short-term memory loss after an accident. Henry’s persistence in making Lucy fall in love with him every day pays off eventually.
Even though it’s filled with comedy, the end of the movie definitely leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling inside with Henry and the kids welcoming Lucy waking up from her sleep.
13. 13 Going on 30 (2004)
How often do you see a movie about the teenage dream of becoming an adult and it comes true? Well, your answer doesn’t matter because you still have to watch this movie.
13 Going on 30 is the story of Jenna Rink(Jennifer Garner) who, after being humiliated at her 13th birthday party by her friend Matt Flamhaff (Mark Ruffalo), wishes on some wishing dust to be thirty and thriving.
As cliché as it is, she realized she has grown up to be someone she hates and trying to make up with her childhood best friend, Matt.
14. TiMER (2009)
TiMER is an interesting mix of sci-fi, romance, and comedy. In this world, a person can purchase a device that counts down to the time you meet their soulmate. Oona (Emma Caulfield) has the TiMER device implanted, but it shows blank.
Deciding that she no longer wants to rely on the device, she just tries to find the love of her life on her own. She falls for a supermarket clerk with a TiMER showing four months to go.
This charming love comedy is certainly a must-watch.
15. Jane Eyre (2011)
Jane Eyre is a woman who has gone through a lot of difficulties as a child. After she grows up, she lands a job as a governess in a French family.
A governess is a woman employed to teach children in a private household, in case you don’t know.
Anyway, she gets to know her employer, Mr. Rochester, and they get along well together. Jane even falls in love with him.
Just when she thinks she has finally found happiness, a dark secret is uncovered. How will this affect her relationship with her boss? You just have to watch the movie to find out.
16. Just Friends (2005)
Follow the story of Chris Bander (Ryan Reynolds) trying to reconnect with his old best friend, Jamie Palamino (Amy Smart). Chris wants to take their relationship to the next level, but Jamie wants to be just friends.
Just friends? As if a man can be just friends with a woman.
So, wimpy Chris runs off to L.A. and becomes a renown music manager. When he’s flying to Paris with his new Pop Start girlfriend, the plane catches fire, and the plane is forced to land in his hometown, New Jersey. Now, wimpy Chris is trying to have another go and become more than just friends with Jamie.
17. Atonement (2007)
Atonement is set in a time before WW II starts. It tells a story of romance between Cecilia Tallis, a woman from a rich family in an English countryside, with Robbie Turner, the son of a servant family working for the Tallis.
Cecilia’s little sister, Briony, have been keeping a close eye on the couple and one day his childish act of accusing Robbie raping her cousin destroys everything and everyone.
Having their relationship thwarted by bad luck and a jealous little sister, Cecilia and Robbie can’t get things like they’re used to be. Briony also must live with the burden of her lies.
18. 40 days and 40 nights (2002)
After a young man (Josh Hartnett) breaks up he vows that he will be celebate for the next 40 days and 40 nights. However, this vow quickly becomes quite difficult to keep after he meets the girl of his dreams.
19. The Love Letter (2013)
The Love Letter is a delightful romantic comedy about the difficulty of balancing friendship and love. How can you have one without taking a chance and ruining the other?
20. Titanic (1997)

22. Begin Again (2013)
Gretta (Keira Knightley) recently broke up with her boyfriend Dave (Adam Levine) after he landed a deal with a huge label. One day Gretta was at a bar, and her friend asked her to sing a song. It so happens a has-been in the music industry, Dan (Mark Ruffalo), was in the audience and he found her talent fascinating.
The meeting was a turn for the better for both the broken-hearted Gretta and the star-crossed Dan. The two then went to collaborate on a music project together. It’s sweet and smart romantic comedy that you just have to see.
23. Clueless (1995)
In this film, Cher is portrayed as a popular high school girl. She’s living with her step dad and step brother after her mom died in a freaky plastic surgery accident. Behind her superficial look, Cher (Alicia Silverstone) is a caring, loving, charming, and intelligent girl. She tries to help a new girl to cope with the social life in high school and get a guy.
This movie is such a joy to watch. The soundtrack is awesome, and the casts’ performance is just great.
24. Slow Learners (2015)
This indie movie is about two boring adults, Jeff Lowry (Adam Pally) and Anne Martin (Sarah Burns). He’s a high school guidance counselor, and she’s a librarian. They kept failing in love and have finally realized how boring their lives were.
In this movie, you’ll be watching two nerds as they use their summer vacation to be cool and have more fun. With hilarious first half and engrossing story on the second half, you just can’t miss this movie.
25. Love Actually (2003)
Love Actually is a movie set in Christmas time. It is a cheerful and warm movie about the love life of three pairs with intersecting stories.
Number one is a between the Prime Minister of England (Hugh Grant) and a member of his household staff, Natalie. The second is between Jamie and his housekeeper. The third is about Harry (Collin Firth) and Karen’s (Emma Thompson) messed up marriage after Harry getting it on with his secretary.
The director of this movie is Richard Curtis who was the director of Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and Bridget Jones Diary.
26. In Your Eyes (2014)
If you’re bored with romantic comedies with chance meeting and all, you’re going to love this movie because the main cast doesn’t even need to meet one another
This movie tells the story of Dylan and Rebecca who can sense, see, and hear each other’s experiences despite living thousands of miles apart. Dylan lives in New Mexico, and she’s in East Coast. Upon realizing this metaphysical connection, their romance begins.
The movie feels a bit slow at first, but as it picks up the pace, you’ll notice how funny and interesting this movie is.
27. Sixteen Candles (1984)
A girl’s sixteenth birthday is supposed to be something special, but not for Samantha (Molly Ringwald). Even her own family forgets about it. It’s all because there’s too much excitement about the marriage of her older sister.
Mix that feeling of being neglected with embarrassing grandparents, a crush that doesn’t know she exists, and you have a recipe for a great romantic teen comedy. It sure deserves to be called a classic.
28. Serendipity (2001)
Sara Thomas (Kate Beckinsale) and Jonathan Trager (John Cusack) met in a store, as they were shopping gloves for their respective fiancées. The chemistry was right, and the two spent the night together. Jonathan wanted to know more about Sara, but Sara thought that they should stick with their respective partners. The two separated without even exchanging phone numbers.
Years passed by with Sara and Jonathan trying to find each other again. With a handful of misses and obstacles in the way, fate has the final say in their relationship.
29. Ain’t Them Bodies Saints (2003)
The main characters in this movie are two outlaws, Bob and Ruth. During a crime they committed together Ruth ends up shooting a police officer! Bob decided to take all the blame because Ruth was pregnant.
Years later, Bob escaped from prison and tried to find Ruth and the child he has never seen before. Ruth still loves Bob, but she has already settled down as a mother.
The movie’s surrealist look may not appeal to some, but you just have to see!
30. Man Up (2015)
A 40-year-old widow, Jack (Simon Pegg), mistakenly took Nancy (Lake Bell), a 34-year-old single lady, as his blind date. Nancy just went along with it, and the story took off. This movie is all about taking chances and being true to yourself.
There are a lot of chaotic stuff during Nancy’s stunt with Jack. Obviously, Jack found out about Nancy not being his blind date in the first place.
Anyone who loves a sappy British romantic comedy should definitely watch this movie.
31. Drinking Buddies (2013)
Two couples travel to a family cottage where they discover feelings developing for the other. There is a lot of late night drinking, talking and breaking up.
32. Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005)
Watch the struggle of Richard Swersey (John Hawkes), a lonely shoe store owner, in his effort to connect with Christine Jesperson (Miranda July), a cab driver who is equally lonely.
It is a bizarre yet beautiful movie. There’s the growing between Christine and Richard, the funny stints of Richard’s kids when they go to a sex chat room, and also Richard’s weird neighbors.
The movie is rather difficult to understand, but just go along with it.
33. Sliding Doors (1998)
A stroke of bad luck hits Helen Quilley (Gwyneth Paltrow). She’s fired from her job at a PR company and misses her train home. The movie has two storylines after the scene and viewers can see what happen in each. In one storyline, her life is still okay with her together with her boyfriend, Gerry. In another storyline, her life is completely different. Garry leaves her for Lydia, and then Helen falls in love with James Hammerton.
If you want to see Gwyneth Paltrow at her best, you need to see this film.
34. Palm Trees in the Snow (2015)
Kilian is from the mountains and returns to the exotic island where he was born. In 2003, Clarence discovers a hidden letter that reveals a hint about her family’s past and sets out to discover what was concealed behind that journey.
35. Can’t Buy Me Love (1987)
In this movie, a typical high school dork named Ronald (Patrick Dempsey) gives one thousand dollars to a cheerleader who happens to be the most popular girl in school named Cindy (Amanda Peterson). Ronald wants Cindy to pretend to be his girlfriend for a month so that other kids will think he is cool.
Well, it works. But the other kids find out the truth, in the end, making him uncool again. This movie is kind of old, but it’s well worth a watch.
36. Must Love Dogs (2005)
A preschool teacher decides that she wants to date again. But she doesn’t want to go about it the normal way. So she puts an ad in the classifieds and gets some pretty funny results in the process.
37. Me Late Chocolate (2013)
After Moni loses her job and boyfriend her friends try to encourage her to move on with her life.
38. Practical Magic (1998)
Sally and Gillian Owens (played by Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman) are the last of two witches in their family. They are cursed in that any men they fall in love in dies. Sally decides to leave the small town they live in. In her journey, she falls in love with a guy from Transylvania.
Gillian decides to stay, but hse also ends up falling in love with a guy. Not wanting the love of their lives meet their demise, the two witches work hard to break the curse.
39. Hope Floats (1998)
Sandra Bullock and Harry Conick Jr. star in this romantic drama. After a divorce Birdee Pruitt moves her daughter and herself back to her hometown where she funs into an “old friend”.
With its perfect cast and immersive storyline, anyone will appreciate this movie.
40. How to Lose Guy in 10 Days (2003)
When a bet meets an opposite bet, you get a nice story to tell. Ben Barry is an advertising executive, and Andie Anderson is a writer for Composure magazine. Ben makes a bet with his co-workers that he can make any woman fall in love with him in ten days. Andie is writing an article about how to lose a gun in 10 days.
Their conflicting hidden agendas make this movie a two-hours of good laugh and cringe.
41. A Little Bit of Heaven (2012)
Marley Corbett (Kate Hudson) is a free-spirit who gets her strength from a close circle of friends. Until, Marley learns she has terminal colon cancer. Despite her determination not to be tied down in a serious relationship, Marley finds herself falling in love with her handsome doctor (Gael García Bernal), even as her health slowly deteriorates.
42. While You Were Sleeping (1995)
Lucy (Sandra Bullock) saves Peter (Peter Gallagher) after he was robbed and left to die on the train tracks. Peter falls into a coma after the robbery. Since Lucy was already fallen in love with Peter before the incident, she often visits him in the hospital pretending to be his fiancée.
Peter’s family is more than welcoming to her. Peter’s brother, Jack, is even more so. Lucy and Peter become closer and closer, all while Peter is still in a coma.
43. Becoming Jane (2007)
Becoming Jane follows a woman that no one seems to understand and who is willing to stand out from the crowd. Jane (played by Anne Hathway) plots her own course and is not afraid to step on the toes of those around here while she is doing it.
44. 10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
This romantic comedy is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s work Taming of The Shrew. The story opens with a new kid in school, Cameron, being shown around by Michael, his soon to-be best friend. Cameron meets Bianca and wants to take her for a date. Bianca says she can’t have a date unless her sister, Kat, has a date too. Cameron pays another student, Patrick, to take Kat on a date.
Surprise, surprise! Bianca is not interested in dating Cameron.

Eddie Murphy plays Prince Akeem of Zamunda. He does not want to marry a woman he never met before on this 21st birthday, so he travels to New York to break that long tradition in his country.
This romantic movie is filled with hilarious moments. The casts are superb, and everything falls into place perfectly.
46. For A Woman (2014)
Anne decides to take a look into the history of her Jewish family. Realizing that her parents actually met in concentration camps, her life takes many twists and turns as what she learns about her past changes her present and future.
47. Chasing Amy (1997)
This movie follows through the ups and downs of comic book artists Holden (Ben Affleck) and Alyssa (Joey Lauren Adams). Holden is head over heels for her but is devastated when he finds out that Alyssa is a lesbian.
For its realistic love story and entertaining characters, Chasing Amy is one of the best romantic movies you can watch on Netflix.
48. Princess Bride (1987)
As a grandfather read a story to his sick and bedridden grandson, the story of Princess Bride begins to unfold.

Harry is a womanizer and he knows it and so do most of the women in his circle. Harry does not think it’s in his cards to find love until he gets a run for his money from Erica, a woman closer to his age that doesn’t have time to put up with his shenanigans.
