7. RV (2006)

RV (2006) Official Trailer

Growing up, this was definitely one of my family’s favorites! RV follows the Munro family as they give up their luxurious hawaiian vacation for an RV road trip. It doesn’t help that this family is extremely dysfunctional and gets themselves into a lot of trouble along the way.

The trip was the husband’s, aka Bob’s, idea, and the family finds out that he might have been taking the trip for the wrong reasons.

This hilarious movie is great to watch with your family, and who knows! Maybe you’ll be inspired to take a trip of your own (probably not though, this adventure get’s pretty crazy).

11. In Bruges (2008)

In Bruges Official Trailer #1 - Ralph Fiennes Movie (2008) HD

“In Bruges” is a delightful satire of the world of museums. Throughout, you’ll find memorable characters like unhinged hitman Ken, racist actor Jimmy, and the lovely, romantically deluded Yuri. Even the film’s wacky title is hilarious. But what’s the film’s best moment? The climactic monologue, wherein Bruges becomes a sort of purgatory, conveys the movie’s message of forgiveness and rebirth.

The movie isn’t for everyone. While the edginess of the characters might not appeal to all audiences, those who love dark comedy will appreciate this delightful film. Its cast is exceptional, and there’s plenty of violence and swearing to keep everyone on the edge of their seats.

And it’s not just the characters that make this a fun movie – the Bruges setting is a major part of its charm.

As far as the witty dialogue goes, In Bruges rewards multiple viewings. The film’s dialogue is a constant reward of humour, pathos, and mundanity, and it’s paired with some heavy themes. In Bruges’ dark undertones contrast with a softer side, delivering a message while never leaving the comedy behind.

12. The Naked Gun (1988)

The Naked Gun – Trailer

While The Naked Gun isn’t as funny as the original, the remake does manage to keep its comic strength. The classic slapstick comedy of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton has proven to be timeless, and the buffoonery found in The Naked Gun is no exception. Despite the dated content, the movie is worth a viewing, just for the laughs.

The comedy in “The Naked Gun” is over-the-top and dumb, and it makes the film a laugh-a-minute experience. The performances, in particular, add to the humor. Although this movie is rife with over-the-top humor, there are no positive messages or role models. The over-the-top situations are also the source of the comedy.

Seth MacFarlane, director of Ted 2, is already preparing the Naked Gun reboot. Liam Neeson is in talks to star in the film. Though it hasn’t been confirmed yet, the director and star will have some big shoes to fill. There’s no denying that MacFarlane has a great talent for comedy, but the Naked Gun reboot may not live up to its predecessors.

13. Groundhog Day (1993)

Groundhog Day - Official Trailer (Thriller)

This 1993 comedy, directed by Harold Ramis, tells the story of Phil Connors, a weatherman from Pittsburgh who becomes trapped in a time loop and must relive the same day over again. The movie has become a beloved classic. Bill Murray stars as Phil, the cynical television weatherman who makes predictions that end up being totally wrong.

While covering a weather event, he is caught in a blizzard that he didn’t predict and finds himself trapped in a time loop.

In the same way, there are a few movies about Groundhog Day that are just as funny. Despite its dark humor, these films still managed to draw a large audience. There are even some that feature romantic comedy. In addition to the classics, the list of movies about Groundhog Day includes many contemporary and modern films.

14. Last Days Of Disco (1998)

The Last Days of Disco (1998) Trailer #1 | Movieclips Classic Trailers

One of Danny DeVito’s funniest movies is “The Last Days of Disco,” which stars MacGruber as the lovable, hapless former police lieutenant Dixon Piper. After his wife is killed, MacGruber has turned his back on violence and assembles a crack team to stop a dangerous criminal, Dieter Von Cunth, from destroying Washington DC.

One of MacGruber’s most memorable and enduring qualities is his mocking of 80s action films. His lack of charm is hilarious and reminds one of Austin Powers. His sex scenes resemble those in Top Gun. Unlike other comics, MacGruber is based on the character of the famous MacGuyver, so fans of the show will enjoy these parodies as much as non-fans.

As the titular character, MacGruber’s wit is a crucial aspect of this comical movie. While he respects Piper, he often disagrees with MacGruber’s zany methods. The plot revolves around MacGruber’s quest to save Washington D.C. from the evil KFBR2392. Despite the zany plot, MacGruber never fails to deliver.

14. Hail, Caesar (2016)

Hail, Caesar! - Official Trailer (HD)

Although billed as a comedy-mystery-thriller, Hail, Caesar! isn’t really about Baird Whitlock and his disappearance. Instead, it’s about Eddie Mannix and his merry crew of misfits fixing up the messes in tinsel town. It’s fundamentally silly, with themes of change and impermanence.

Though the Coen brothers have been known to question the legitimacy of power, Hail, Caesar! makes the concept of power more relevant today than ever.

Despite its seriousness, “Hail, Caesar!” has a few moments that will leave you laughing out loud. The Coen brothers are masters of satire, and the movie demonstrates their versatility as filmmakers by blending various genres into one.

While many of the Coens’ films are serious and highly intelligent, this comedy is delightfully silly. Joel and Ethan Coen’s humor is a riot in this film, and “Hail, Caesar!” is a slapstick romp about life and death.

The comedy in “Hail, Caesar!” is derived from the witty banter between Mannix and Laurentz. It is reminiscent of old film revues, with a mishmash of talent from studios. The movie’s cast includes aquatic star Scarlett Johansson, singing cowboy Hobie Doyle, and charming Alden Ehrenreich.

A comedy like this deserves to be made and cherished.

15. Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)

Inside Llewyn Davis - Official Trailer #1 [HD]: The Coen Bros, Oscar Isaac and Justin Timberlake

Despite their serious intentions, The Coen Brothers’ latest film, Inside Llewyn Davis, is surprisingly funny. Set in 1961 Greenwich Village, this film focuses on a group of disgruntled communist screenwriters, who kidnap George Clooney. Josh Brolin, who plays the production chief, must rescue Clooney from the hands of the gang. The Coen Brothers’ films range from Westerns to biblical epics to musicals.

16. Monty Python And The Holy Grail (1974)

Monty Python and the Holy Grail Official Trailer - John Cleese Movie (1974)

In this 1974 film, a killer rabbit is defeated by a medieval weapon called the Holy Hand Grenade. Despite being an early example of the Monty Python style, the plot is more complex than many people realize. The group has a history of degrading women, and the plot is not without controversy.

While some of the scenes in Holy Grail are controversial, they aren’t as offensive as some of the modern movies.

In conclusion, any of these funniest movies on Netflix are sure to get the whole gang laughing (or just the two of you!).
