Chelsea Handler was born in Livingston, New Jersey on February 25, 1975. Ever since she was born, she has been known for her caustic commentary, self-deprecating humor, and sarcastic and critical views on A-List celebrities.

She isn’t shy about what she has to say when it comes to her opinions. She will give her honest, albeit sometimes unkind, opinion about tons of topics. The topics that she likes to touch on? Anything from education to politics.

Good thing she has a wide variety of to chat about since she had a talk show. Chelsea Handler is the second woman to host a late night talk show, other than Joan Rivers, who hosted The Late Show on Fox from 1986 to 1987.

Chelsea’s talkshow, Chelsea, is a “late night-esq” talk show that Netflix produced as a Netflix Original. However, the talk show was canceled after two seasons.

Chelsea claims that she is leaving the show for political activism, as she does not agree with our current president, she feels the need to spread positive political activism about what is right.

While she may have her definite opinions, her negativity toward the Trump Administration may have lost her the majority of her viewers. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, it does not have to be worn on your sleeve all the time.

“My goal is to be better informed, raise my voice, and participate in a more meaningful way.”

Her opinions may have cost her, her talk show. For this reason, Netflix cancel’s their first talk show. Fans should be thrilled about this, as this may mean more time, money, and resources for other shows that may be more watched.

For those of you that are Handler fans, you don’t have to worry. This is not the end for Handler with her partnership with Netflix.

“I’m excited to share that I will continue my partnership with Netflix, working together on a documentary where I’ll engage with people I don’t talk with enough – people of different ethnicities, religions and political philosophies,” she continued. “Netflix could not be more understanding, and I’m grateful for their continued support. New episodes of Chelsea will continue to stream weekly until the end of this year.”

What do you think about the news that the documentary is canceled? Were you a fan? Indifferent? Couldn’t care less? While the talk show may be canceled, you can still see weekly episodes through the end of the year.
