Netflix and Chill Just Got a New Meaning

We are all well aware of the whole premise of “Netflix and Chill”– The whole watch a movie or show with your significant other, but not really watch. It’s time for bow-chika-bow-wow! Maybe you haven’t heard of this, maybe you have. But if you’re aware, this is so last year. And by last year, I mean out of style… Not hip. Not cool. I mean, who wants to spend twenty minutes looking for something that they aren’t going to watch??

Hold up, old definition. There is new definition in town that here to take over and it literally means to “Netflix and Chill”. So you’re probably wondering what could possibly be more chill than– er, not watching Netflix with your significant other? Weed.

Yes, you read that correctly. Weed. Mary Jane. Marijuana. Netflix has taken it upon themselves to create different strains of marijuana for their different shows on Netflix. It’s totally true. They’ve cut out the middle man and they’ve gone straight to creating the magic.

You can thank their new show, Disjointed, for this new promotion. Kathy Bates is the star in this new show. She is the proud owner of a cannabis dispensary in Los Angeles. She may be new to town, but she was previously a lawyer that fought for those that needed medicinal marijuana.

Some of the flavors include:

  • Banana Stand Kush for Arrested Development
  • Camp Firewood for Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later
  • Rutherford B. Haze, the Omega Strain and Eve’s Bush for Disjointed
  • Poussey Riot for Orange is the New Black
  • Vodkush for Chelsea
  • Prickly Muffin for BoJack Horseman

While this isn’t a permanent promotion, maybe it will be, maybe it won’t be, it was meant to promote their new show. The show was created by The Big Bang Theory’s Chuck Lorre. The show has gotten tons of mixed reviews.

We’ve heard our fans speak and they’ve said anything from, “We can do without the laugh track.” and “It’s way too cheesy; Very unrealistic and I didn’t like the cartoon parts.” But there are also positive reviews of the show as well admiration of fighting for the rights of those that fight for our country.

What do you think about this promotion– Selling weed to promote the new show? What do you think about Netflix’s new show? Were you a fan of Kathy Bates in her new role? Tell us what you think of the whole situation! We’d love to hear from you!
