Marco Polo theNetflix Original is filled

with Sexual and Political Intrigue

Marco Polo, the famed explorer and his adventures with Kublai Khan are now available on Netflix.  Netflix has announced that Season 2 of the adventure drama will be available worldwide on July 1st.   The 10 episodes will run with cast including:   Lorenzo Richelmy (as Marco Polo), Michelle Yeoh (the Handmaiden), Benedict Wong (Kublai Khan), Joan Chen (Empress Chabi), Zhu Zhu (Kokachin), Tom Wu (Hundred Eyes), Olivia Cheng (Mei Lin), Claudia Kim (Khutulun), Rick Yune (Kaidu) and Remy Hii (Prince Jingim) among others.

As a youth,  Marco explores thousands of miles of oceans, deserts and the Silk Road in what is now Beijing.  Spending years as an aide to Kublai Kahn, who thinks highly of the young man’s abilities as a merchant.  This series follows the adventures of the two,  with battles to the death, assassinations and test of loyalty along the way.

 

During the research, John Fusco, the shows creator traveled the Silk Road and  crossed the Ming Sha Dunes.  He also studied the Last Will and Testament of Marco Polo in Italy. While some experts find it full of historical errors, others have praised the series.  

A Netflix original, filled with warfare and political/sexual intrigue subscribers can watch season 1 and season 2 on Netflix now.  Season 3 is stalled due to financial and creative issues, however it was stated that certain cast members were going to take the lead.  We will keep fans posted on Marco Polo season 3, watch season 1 and 2 now.
