Disney and Netflix have made a deal
starting in September!
Disney and Netflix have an agreement that will bring Disney Movies to the streaming service in September 2016. Previously, movies would go to Starz, but that contract has expired.
Do not misinterpret this announcement. While some are reporting ALL of the new Disney movies will be available in September, we think it might actually be a while before we see some of the bigger movies on Netflix.
Perhaps, older movies such as Toy Story, Dumbo, and Camp Rock could be released on Netflix in September, but it seems like it could be a lot longer before we see Secret Life of Pets, Inside Out, and Finding Dory.
Unfortunately, the movies released in theaters while Starz was under contract which includes Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Ant-Man, would likely not be on Netflix unless Netflix would license the streaming rights to those movies, which seems unlikely.
With all that said, remember there some favorites on Netflix available now for streaming including
- Lilo and Stitch
- The Emperors New Groove
- Robin Hood
- Brother Bear
- Pirates of The Caribbean
- Mickey and The Beanstalk
- Read it and Weep
- Geek Charming
