We are all familiar with the stuck up security officer protecting the lives in the Sunnyvale Trailer Park. The man that runs around trying to catch Ricky, Julian, and Bubbles in malicious acts. He is always against them and never for them and his side kick, Randy, is right there with him. You know who I’m talking about… Jim Lahey.
Unfortunately, the actor John F. Dunsworth, born on April 12, 1946 played Mister Jim Lahey in Trailer Park Boys has passed away on October 16, 2017. The actor suffered from a minor illness that claimed his life, his daughter, Sarah, informed the public of the news.
“John left this world peacefully after a short and unexpected illness,” Sarah Said.
Sarah also asked for peace and privacy as they mourn the loss of her father. While they mourn their loss, fans will do the same. The show will definitely not be the same with out the dynamic duo of shirtless, gross Randy and drunk, pesky Jim Lahey.
Mr. Lahey wasn’t just Mr. Lahey– Before John F. Dunsworth played in Trailer Park Boys he was the lead role in over 25 Nepture Theatre Productions– His resume also includes radio drama roles, commercials, and voice overs. Aside from acting, John loved sailing and playing bridge. He was also the father of Sarah and Molly Dunsworth.
If anyone has not seen the Nova Scotia based show, you are missing out. The show is compiled of 11 seasons where viewers can watch the choppy mockumentary of the three convicted felons.
The trio includes Ricky– The spoofy character that mixes up his sayings and has his very own “Ricky-isms”… He is always in a “Catch 23 situations”. We see Julian, the brains of the operation, so-to-speak, but that doesn’t stop him from getting in trouble– Julian always has a drink in his hand and is usually dressed in his normal attire of a black shirt and jeans. Then there is Bubbles– The goofy looking guy with big glasses that talks really enthusiastically about his kitties. He is just along for the ride– usually in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The three felons are usually hindered from any “fun” by Mr. Lahey and Randy– The wannabe cops that patrol Sunnyvale Trailer Park. That does not stop the three from getting into trouble.
Bubbles Tweeted, “I am beyond devastated. John was a beautiful guy. Brilliant and fascinating. I am forever grateful for having known him. RIP my friend.”
Mr. Lahey won’t be there to lay the iron hand down on the trio, which will lay heavy over fans and the cast. May John F. Dunsworth rest in peace.
